It is a book about life, which photographer and blogger BENHAMMER 2017 put in front of our noses. 366 pages filled with analog snapshots of everyday life. An everyday life in which every creative person finds himself more or less. The whole year 2016 Ben had his Olympus Mju 2 with him. Filled with countless analogue films. At every party, every event and at every shooting, Ben took candid snapshots with it. A look behind the otherwise glorious world of photography. With all its ups and downs. Derailments, fears and the search for meaning. Limited to 1000 copies, it is a work for which one needs time and rest. Whoever finds it will later be pleased to have a truly collector’s item in his or her book collection. You can buy “Das Leben und Sterben des BENHAMMER” here in the online shop
Information and insights into the successor of “Das Leben und Sterben des BENHAMMER” called “Tage danach” can be found here and of course in the shop.

This is what buyers of “The Life and Death of BENHAMMER” say
The life and death of the BENHAMMER is exactly what it carries in the title; the recording of the transience and rarity of living moments. It is the somewhat “different” photography book. It is unembellished and imperfect. It shows what one does not expect to show. Not glossy and digitally polished, but rather from the situation, preferably photographed with a lot of grain and especially analogue. Maybe that is just what it is. Maybe the choice of a simple analogue compact camera, plus 2-3 films is exactly what makes this book so strong. What makes it become a story. The life and death of the BENHAMMER is a photographer’s reflection that has become a picture. And damned honestly too. Chapeau.Christof H.
Finally, fresh image ideas paired with beautiful texts and great layout! Far away from the mainstream of other illustrated books. Worth every cent. I am looking forward to more books! 🙂Michael H.
